Sophie Ellis-Bextor has given birth to her second son nine weeks early. The singer was suffering from the potentially life-threatening illness pre-eclampsia, according to The Daily Mail newspaper.
It is the second time she has had the condition. Her first child Sonny was born via emergency caesarean four years ago.
Her mother, former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis told BBC breakfast news on Tuesday 10th February that the baby had been born.
“He is doing very well,” the proud grandmother said.
Sophie is married to Richard Jones, bass guitarist with the band The Feeling. The Daily Mail is reporting that their second son is to be called Kit Valentine Jones.
