Do toddlers and paint mix?

This weather is driving me mad - it’s absolutely raining cats and dogs! Still, I suppose it is January - what can you expect.

I decided to do some painting with the daughter yesterday, I thought it would be a good idea - how wrong was I ! She wanted to put her hands in all of the paint, then she wanted to use the brush to clean her teeth. She was an absolute mess. I just had to abandon the experiment and throw her straight into the bath! Then, there was paint all in the bath - the husband would’ve killed me if I’d managed to damage his precious rolltop!

I do all these things to try and improve her mood in those last couple of hours before bedtime!

She had to have timeout in the childminder’s yesterday. She was telling other children to “move”. Then, when the childminder was explaining that it’s not nice to speak like that she was pointing at her with her finger - not very nice behaviour! She can be a proper little Madam.

It’s her birthday soon and I’m stuck for ideas regarding how to celebrate. We had a tea party last year and I don’t want to go down that route again. If anyone has any ideas for me PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get in touch.
