Do you believe in fairies?

The daughter was beside herself on Saturday.

A parcel arrived for her - I couldn’t work out WHAT it could be. Her birthday is February and I know Christmas is around the corner but still, a bit too early for Father Christmas to be posting out!

When she opened it - it was a FAIRY outfit! She was over the moon. My friend’s Mum had sent it for her - now how thoughtful is that.

Do you know what, it even cheered up my weekend. Some people are so kind and this woman is one of THE nicest people I have ever, ever met. I’m not just saying that because of the gift either!

When my Darling Dad died, she’d only just started getting to know me but the support she gave me was unbelievable.

I think kind gestures, no matter how small, can really boost someone. Go on, do something today - I’m not suggesting buying fairy outfits for everyone you know BUT even a smile will go a long way - I’m sure.

We’ve had a lovely weekend. We went to the coast on Saturday. I think beaches are even better in this windy weather. Just being able to wrap up and run on the empty beach - really makes you feel alive.

The daughter thought it was amazing. We didn’t spend much either - just goes to show you can have a nice day without burning the purse strings. The husband was over the moon.

He annoyed me before we went though, I was busy in the kitchen, he’d had a lie-in and when he eventually surfaced he said “Are we having any breakfast or not”. I could’ve killed him.

The daughter and I had been up for hours so obviously we’d already eaten!

On Sunday the mother-in-law or Nana Manchester as the daughter calls her came over and that was nice too.

The daughter doesn’t seee her much and she was so quiet I was quite embarassed but children aren’t performing seals - as I’m beginning to discover!

This week is national Foster and Adoption Week so we have some great interviews lined up. On Tuesday I speak to a woman about fostering in the north Wales area.
