The husband or as I now call him, Scrooge, has decided that he hates Christmas. It was that bad at the weekend that even his request for an XBOX was taken back. You can see just how bad the mood was.
He does this regularly. The Valentine’s Day after the daughter was born - less than two weeks after her birth - he decided to tell me that he “doesn’t do Valentine’s Day”. Since when? He’d done it every other year but suddenly at the time when I really wanted romance he didn’t!
So he was back in that frame of mind about Christmas. He doesn’t want to buy any presents. Well that’s good - he doesn’t.
Not one present as he bought this year or any year. Well, he does buy me and very nice presents they are too. He never buys any family and friends though. If it was left to him all our family and friends would be receiving a big fat zero and they wouldn’t be getting a visit either. What’s more - they wouldn’t find anyone in our house! Yes, he wants a completely quiet Christmas - just the three of us.
Now I love the husband very, very much BUT he has married a woman who would LOVE her life to be like It’s A Wonderful Life. My brother always accuses me of wanting to live in a fairytale and he’s right.
Christmas is the ultimate fairytale for me. So please don’t destroy it husband.
I couldn’t see anyone on their own at Christmas - he could and he’d even see the daughter with just an orange “It’s character building” - Well maybe it would be character building NOT to receive an XBOX - I don’t think he’d be bothered though! You see NOTHING seems to ruffle his feathers.
I wouldn’t mind if he was being all BAH HUMBUG because he was running around doing everything but he isn’t - I am. Either he knows that and he doesn’t care or he really does believe in Father Christmas!

Joanne what has happened to my brother…he has become my Dad tell him that is just how our Dad was when we were kids - if it was left up to Dad we would of only got an orange. Oh my god cannot believe my brother has become my Dad. Good job Isabel has you Joanne, tell him to snap out of it - that’s an order from his sister.
That’s men for you Joanne, they all get moody at Christmas I think it’s there time of the month.
Isn’t it infuriating! We’re the ones running around getting stressed but the men are the ones who are miserable.
I even bought him an advent calendar - I have two kids!
Linda - have a word with the misery!!!! A husband like the father-in-law I don’t want - ha ha. I thought us girls were meant to turn into our mothers not the other way around.
Oh dear, men turning into their father’s, not a good sign. If he keeps it up tell him to spend Christmas in the shed with his tools and lawnmower. Mind you he’d probably like that!
Oh what a misery! Part of the fun of Christmas is buying gifts for others - you don’t have to spend much. You could even make gifts!
More importantly, it’s about spending time with those you love and happy, smiley faces are a must!
