So, I’m 22 weeks pregnant now and I am finally starting to feel better after my bout of breathlessness!
It was awful - by the time I’d walked the daughter to school I was panting like an 80-year-old with a 20-a-day smoking habit. I went to see the GP and my iron levels were low - not surprising as they’d also been low when I was pregnant with the daughter.
After a week of taking iron tablets I am starting to feel as though I have more energy.
Pregnancy second time around is really strange - you just have to get on with it! You don’t even see the midwife that much. The last time I saw her was in August and I won’t see her now until November.
First time around was completely different, I felt as though I was a pin cushion from the number of blood tests they do. My wee was tested every few weeks and I had a chart which I had to fill in to record how many times I’d felt the baby kick that day.
If nothing else, the appointments were a lovely excuse to come out of work - I have no such excuse at the minute - especially as I am working with the husband. He was definitely much more attentive first time around. He bought me flowers and made me tea on a regular basis.
No such look this time - he’s got me working more hours, doing the majority of the childcare, doing all the supermarket shopping and he still expects sex! MEN!!!!!!!!
