Snow causes havoc for Mum

January 5, 2010

pregnancy.jpgWell the snow has well and truly been wreaking havoc everywhere. Where we live it’s been made worse because the snow has frozen meaning it’s treacherous getting around.

I don’t mean to come across as a pathetic pregnant woman but I’m afraid of falling - it really is slippy.

My 83-year-old Nan is in a vile mood as she’s been left stranded - she hates having to stay in the house at the best of times. We’ve all been taking things round to her but she’s an independent madam and wants to go out. What for I can’t imagine -unless she’s planning on going sledging!

I suppose it’s January though so what can we expect.

I don’t know what the council’s like by you but where we are lots of pavements have been left untreated and I’ve seen a couple of pensioners walking around with black eyes - they’ve fallen over bless them.

I believe the council are trying to keep salt back as we’re in for a harsh winter.

Someone said we’ve got six weeks of it - great, I’m due to give birth in six weeks time - don’t fancy having to take a baby on the school run in this.

Speaking of the baby, I’m feeling a bit more organised now - finally. I’ve washed some newborn baby clothes which belonged to the daughter. I cannot believe it’s been nearly four years since she was in them.

We’ve also sorted out the bedrooms. The nursery still looks like a dumping ground but at least there’s a cot in there and some bin bags which I know contain baby clothes.

I feel huge now and the husband keeps saying that I look like a taxi driver with a big beer belly - isn’t he lovely.

Anyway, stay safe in this weather!

Charming thing to say by your husband hehe :)

I saw a pregnant woman walking in the snow the other day and I was so worried about her slipping over. The snow and ice can be really dangerous!

Hopefully we are past the worst of the weather.

Let’s hope it’s going now Jane. It’s gone past the sun stage! I’m just worried that if I fall on it I won’t get back up!
