What’s On in Manchester

Manchester is a large industrial city in the north west of England. The city has been transformed in recent years, primarily due to the bombing by the IRA in 1996.

The Printworks and The Triangle have become popular entertainment and shopping areas and The Arndale Centre is the UK’s largest shopping mall.

On the outskirts of the city there is also the large Trafford Centre - it looks like a Taj Mahal type structure but it is home to stores including Selfridges.

There is an integrated transport system and trams have been introduced in the city as well, ideal for nipping around the city with the family.

The city is also home to Manchester United and Manchester City football clubs.
