Higher Kinnerton School Fete
Fun was had by all in Higher Kinnerton this weekend (Saturday July 3rd 2010).
My Baby Radio was kindly asked to take part in the event kick-starting the station’s summer tour. It was a fantastic day out for all the family with a procession from the Swan Pub to the playing fields at Ysgol Derwen. Local residents came out in there hundreds to witness this spectacular event.
One woman said it brought a tear to her eye seeing all the children having such a great time as the procession made its way to Ysgol Derwen. The whole event had a South African theme to support the World Cup.
If you was there on the day, see if you can spot yourself in our pictures.
Our very own Teddy Tiger went along to meet the families and took some valuable requests from the children he met on the day. One girl, Sophie requested Lady GaGa and another asked for Taylor Swift which Teddy said he’d play for them in his (After School Disco Show 3-4pm each weekday).
As well as some interesting stalls there was also a Green Goddess fire engine, a huge jungle procession with life-size Lion and Monkey, Tug-of-war, Morris Dancing, Football competitions, Horse Riding and much much more.
When Teddy Tiger arrived he parked up his mini and went for a big walk around the field to say hello to all the children. As usual he was very popular, handing out balloons and car stickers.
Lots of children wanted hugs and kisses but many children wanted to just have a chat and hang out with Teddy for the day. It was a cloudy day but was still very sunny with a cool breeze all day - perfect weather for a school fete and carnival. Higher Kinnerton is located in Flintshire in North East Wales.
See you all next year!
