Proud parents display kids photos on radiators
Proud parents are displaying kids photos on radiators, not just any radiators - designer radiators throughout their homes.
Not content with archiving pictures into photo albums, Mums and Dads are paying for them to be printed onto their central heating systems.
The idea was launched at the Grand Designs show in May 2011 and since then parents have been rushing to feature their off spring on the must have house accessory.
A spokeswoman for London based company The Radiator Gallery said: “Selling them all the time and they’re proving a big success.”
The photographs can be placed over the top of vertical or horizontal stainless steel radiators. The image, which has to be sharp and of a good quality is placed within a sheet of acrylic which allows heat from the radiator to circulate.
In the past heating systems were designed for practical use with little thought paid to the way they look. Radiator design in the last 15 years has gone through a revolution with new materials and better design methods allowing the manufacturers to produce a finished product that not only works in a practical sense, but also visually in a very stylish manner.
Many home owners are using the radiators portraying family images instead of art work.
