Holiday with baby

holidays.gifAwla Sanghrajka was so occupied with travelling with her offspring that she turned it into a business holidaywithbaby.co.uk. “I’ve always loved to jet set with my husband…fortunately I went out and tried it and thought it wasn’t that difficult…that is where we got the idea for our business,” she said.

Awla suggests packing your case and trying out the UK before you venture further afield.

“Travelling in the UK I would always recommend. The key advantage is you can take your car and you have the comfort that you haven’t forgotten anything and if you do you know you can buy it. Once you’ve done your UK holidays then you can go to Europe and further afield.”

Awla said many European countries are family friendly. “Italy, Spain and Portugal have a great family culture. They’re very welcoming but that doesn’t mean they have all the facilities. You may go to a restaurant and find they don’t have a highchair so be prepared or call in advance.”

As for a top tip when travelling by aeroplane - Awla suggests turning to passengers nearest to you before take off and apologising if your child’s behaviour disrupts their flight but tell them you will try your best to keep them calm and under control.
