As technology improves, many parents are refusing to indulge in the latest gadgets. Are they right or are they missing out on some innovations which could make their lives easier?
Touch screens can be seen in most areas of life from mobile phones to self-service supermarket tills.
John Barton from electronic company LG believes technology could make life easier for busy Mums and Dads.
“We don’t want to force technology down peoples throats. The younger generation leap into it in a big way and they grow with the technology. The youth of today develop and grow with the technology and know all about it,” he said.
So what gadgets will the children of today be using in the next decade?
“Think of your favourite science fiction film and think about what’s in it and it may be coming to market,” said John.
Joe Svetlik from gadget magazine T3 believes the youth of today will grow up with all the latest mod cons.
“It’s scary what they will be using,” he said.

My question to you? My 3 year old grandson is still not talking and potty-training. My daughter, which she is my youngest does not have the interest nor the patients to assist her son to talking and potty-training. What can I do as a grandparent, which I work full-time and I do offer to help her, but she does not want my help. Frustrating, upset, angry, depressed because I see all this going-on, but don’t know where to turn for resources. Can you suggest what I do and try to help my daughter and grandson.
Sincerely yours,
Virginia Robles-desperate grandmother.
Oh this is a tough one Virginia. I can understand your concerns. Have you tried talking to your daughter? Maybe she could go and see her health visitor.
