Chinese Lunar Calendar

Pregnancy & Birth |

This is a Chinese Lunar Calender which is an ancient Chinese Chart used to predict the sex of your unborn child. The Chart was buried in a tomb near Beijing for 700 years. The original is in the Institute of Science in Beijing.

Within the Chinese Lunar Calendar listed below the way to find the gender of your baby is to match the mother’s age at conception which is listed (across the top of the table) and then the month in which conception happened. Then, follow the column and row to the intersecting point.

The calender is based on age 18 to 45 years. (B = Boy and G = Girl)

Its wrong with both boys as they said they were girls! I am 15wks now and it says it’s a boy…think its 50/50 no one knows till you scan sorry to say. We just love to try and guess it though. Would love to find out before my scan but it costs a lot to find out and I guess as long as its healthy that is all that matters! Good luck girls xxxx

Hi Damodaran, The age is the age you were when you conceived.

I checked this quite a few years ago and it was right for everyone in my family except my husband who should have been a girl!
Would like to try in the next couple of years for a girl as we have a son and it seems most of the next 2 years would produce a girl for us so that’s nice to know.

shelly 2:05 pm - April 8, 2010

Sorry to say but most of you are wrong it go’s by your LUNAR AGE at conception not your age you are at conception as lunar age you are usually 1-2 years older then your actual age.

Christafanny Wee 5:27 am - May 7, 2010

Great Web site! I really liked reading your post

Sia 9:28 pm - June 15, 2010

Hi everyone, I am planning on getting pregnant and hoping for a boy as I already have two girls. Do we go by the chinese age even though the original chinese calender to predict baby gender does not mention about the chinese age and some website it does? I am quite confuse..Can anyone clearify which chinese calender on web they use that have right on the spot with predictions and how to use it if inregards to the chinese age of concieving?

Sia 11:33 pm - June 15, 2010

My chinese age this year of 2010 in july is 25 but I am just turning 24 on july 27th. should I go by my chinese age and month to have a boy?

Richi 8:24 pm - June 25, 2010

Hi Joanne,
How is age calculated here..itz the actual or d lunar age as calculated by chinese.I am 26yrs 9 months old. What age should be taken into consideration.
Thanks.

Sia 6:22 pm - July 1, 2010

I got to thinking and feels that all the chinese calendar availabe via web are not accurate and not even the same. We should really just be bless for what we have wether boy or girl and also the most important is if the pregnancy is going to be a healthy baby because I know that NO ONE wants any problems or complications with their pregnancy.

Sarika 7:49 am - July 20, 2010

This calender is right. When I was pregnant my age was 28 and I got a male child.

cassie 11:02 pm - August 30, 2010

you have to go by your lunar age not your “real” age!! Go to a website to figure out your lunar age… :)
