    Product Tests |

babybaths130.gifLara Green from Babyworld.co.uk has been testing out baby bath seats with a panel of parents. We asked her what points parents should consider when looking to purchase this product.

Do we really need a bath seat?

To be honest I didn’t have one with my first son and I don’t know how I did it. They are so handy, they free up your hands and it makes bath time safer and easier. I think they’re a really good purchase.

    What’s the aim of them?

It just keeps them nice and safe and secure in the bath. There are lots of different shapes and sizes so it’s worth looking around. There a e lots of different options.

    Your testers enjoyed this test?

We had plastic moulded seats, we had sponge like seats. We even had something that looked like a baby seat. We tested lots of different seats with six mums.

    What did the panel think?

We looked at design, comfort, safety, quality and value for money. Comfort and safety were the most important things with our panel. We had two seats that won awards - The Tigex bath seat scored 9/10. Our panel did say that the Comfy bath is very, very good for small babies because it does wrap around the babies. The Mother’s Touch Deluxe was Best Value.

Your panel looked at ease of use?

It’s a really important point, it’s important to think about yourself. They are ideal for Mums with bad backs and if they’ve had a c-section.

    Could you use them again?

The plastic seats should last but with the fabric ones you may want to buy another.

    How much are they?

The cheapest one was the Bathease and that’s £8. They can be right up to £13.99. You should be looking at anything between £10 -  15.
