RETAIL PRICE: £8.00

Nappies, nappies everywhere - with a toddler running around, my house is abound with the things! However, they are an essential piece of kit and so I was more than happy to review Huggies Little Walkers.

My daughter is walking and running everywhere so the idea of having a nappy which was shaped like a pant really appealed to me. Our pack was complimentary but if I was buying them they would set me back more than £8.00 for a pack of 38 nappies. Some friends think that’s a bit expensive and you can get supermarket brands for less but I wasn’t overly fazed by the price to be honest. The package was a bit difficult to get into - lots of thick plastic and I really had to dig in deep with my fingernails and rip it open to get into the nappies.

On first inspection they do look unbelievably slim but they are a pant. I did wonder how absorbent they would be but all fears were soon put to one side. The daughter had no leaks and everything was kept in its rightful place! However, I never let her sleep in them - I didn’t feel that confident, they just seemed to slim.

I love the Winnie the Pooh design and this was a favourite with the daughter. A good marketing ploy by Huggies I think as it does make them stand out from some of the other brands. Would it make me buy them? I don’t know really, maybe not. Not even I will indulge my little girl that much!

My husband put the first one on the daughter and this is where the problems started. Bless him, he didn’t realise it was a pant and so he took it apart like a normal nappy and tried to put it on in the usual fashion. By doing this, he put it on back to front - his excuse was that Winnie the Pooh was on the back and the front! Putting it on in this fashion was a nightmare and it just didn’t seem to work but obviously we’d done it wrong. However, sometimes I want to change my daughter’s nappy by laying her down because otherwise I have to take her trousers off, remove the pant, put a clean one on and then the trousers need to go back. However, in Huggies defence maybe they see this product as more of a training pant.

They were really convenient for getting dressed quickly - especially from swimming.

However, the most annoying thing about this nappy for me was the way that you couldn’t wrap the tabs around the nappy to dispose of it. I like to make the nappy into a sort of parcel shape before I throw it away. The other brands are able to do this but I couldn’t with Huggies Little Walkers. Just a small point but one I would definitely change.

Durability: 5/5
Design: 3/5
Value: 3/5

Conclusion: All in all I would say this nappy is fine for the toddler who likes to walk, jump and run around but in the end it’ll come down to personal preference and how much of a Winnie the Pooh fan you are!
